Day Camp Information 2024

  1. To participate in any aspect of the day camp, each child must be registered in advance using the Register For Day Camp button which takes you to the Registration Page. Please have all your information at hand to complete the online form. (Guardian name and phone. Children ages and allergy info, etc.)

  2. NOTE: AGE OF CHILDREN Children must be 6 years of age as of December 31st, 2024 and capable of toileting and dressing themselves independently.

  3. We have a maximum of 20 campers each week, supervised by 3 YMCA-trained counsellors from Camp Kitchikewana.

  4. All activities may be shortened or cancelled due to inclement weather. We ask that your listed Emergency Contact: 1) be in Honey Harbour while your registered camper is attending camp; and 2) be aware of this policy/prepared for a cancellation or early pick-up, if necessary.

  5. The HHA requires the completion of the several parental consents for camp - Liability Waiver for injury, illness, damage, loss and theft; acknowledgement of HHA's and HOOTS Day Camp's right to use photographs, or video of the persons named in the registration form for its promotional program and social media; and acknowledgement of the camp Code of Conduct. The Waiver form is part of the Registration Page. No camper will participate in camp without being registered via the HHA website and these waivers completed.

  6. Each camper needs a swimsuit, towel, a litter-free lunch, water bottle, non-marking clean athletic shoes (for the courts), water shoes and a properly fitted, approved lifejacket.

  7. We do not have before or after programming. Camp is 10 am to 3 pm.

  8. This camp is water access only, located at the Schoolhouse in North Bay, near Honey Harbour. We do not provide transportation.

  9. The Lat and Long is: 44.88259° N, 79.80765°

  10. NOTE: all campers will complete a swim test at the start of each session. The test includes a deep water entry, treading water for one minute, and a 50 metre swim (any style, no time limit, without touching the bottom). Success of the swim test enables campers to swim without a life jacket during supervised times. Campers who do not complete the swim test must wear a life jacket while swimming, and may attempt the swim test again at any point during the camp session. All campers and staff must wear a life jacket at all times when in any boat.

  11. CANCELLATIONS: Camper registration cancellations prior to July 1st receive a 100% refund. After July 1st, no refund will be issued. HHA will try its best to move your camper(s) to another week, if there is availability.
